AGAR, JOHN: 3X5 in ink. 40's western star. Worked with John Wayne, John Ford and was the first husband of Shirley Temple. There are holes at the top of the card so it may be placed in a binder. They can be easily matted out. …35.00

ALLISON, MAY: Vintage 8x10 signed in ink. A very "20's" pose. W.F. Seely studio photograph Allison (1890-1989, born in Rising Fawn, Georgia) made her film debut in A Fool There Was (1915), but didn't find success until she was paired with Harold Lockwood in several romantic films. The two were one of the first popular screen couples in the United States. Unfortunately for Allison, Lockwood died in the influenza epidemic of 1918. Her film career sputtered on after his death, ending in 1927 with The Telephone Girl. Allison married three times, including a marriage to James Quirk of fanzine Photoplay; he died and left her a widow in 1932. .....$150.00

X 4.5 in. and is signed in pencil. I bought this autograph from the estate of James Huff Jr. who was in charge of public relations for Frank P. Gravatt, president of the Atlantic City Steel Pier Company. Gravatt ran the famous Atlantic City Steel Pier during the 30's and after WWII and Mr. Huff was his right hand man. CHASE, ILKA: VINTAGE AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE. 5X7 IN. BXW …199.00 Ilka Chase (April 8, 1900 – February 15, 1978) was an American actress and novelist. Born in New York City and educated at convent and boarding schools in the United States, England, and France, she was the only child of Francis Dane Chase and Edna Woolman Chase. Her mother was editor-in-chief of Vogue. Chase made her society debut in 1923 and her Broadway debut a year later, in The Red Falcon. Her stage appearances included roles in Days Without End, Forsaking All Others, While Parents Sleep, On to Fortune, Tampico, Co-Respondent Unknown, Keep Off the Grass and In Bed We Cry, an adaptation of her novel of the same name. She was in the original Broadway cast of Clare Boothe Luce's play, The Women (1938), and many years later appeared in Neil Simon's Broadway hit Barefoot in the Park.

He was a popular film and stage actor, who became a major film star in the British cinema of the 1930s. In 1930 he toured America in the cast of the R.C. Sheriff play Journey's End and appeared in his first film Charley's Aunt during a spell in Hollywood.[2] He then returned to Britain and became a mainstay of the British film industry. He made 57 film appearances as an actor between 1930 and 1967. He collaborated with his second wife on several plays, such as The Grass is Greener and the screenplay for the subsequent film The Grass is Greener. He died from throat cancer, aged 65, in London. …

FREY, LEONARD: Frey was born in New York and studied under famed acting coach Sanford Meisner. Frey received critical acclaim in 1968 for his performance as Harold in off Broadway’s THE BOYS IN THE BAND. He would go on to appear alongside the rest of the original cast in the 1970 film version, directed by William Friedkin. He appeared in many TV shows during the 70’s and 80’s. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Frey was nominated for a 1975 Tony Award as Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in THE NATIONAL HEALTH. This is a Playbill from that show in which Frey wrote his cast notes which he received from the director after a performance. He gave it to me personally. LEWIS, TED: (June 6, 1890 – August 25, 1971) Vintage BxW 8X10. American entertainer, bandleader, singer, and musician. He fronted a band and touring stage show that presented a combination of jazz, comedy, and nostalgia that was a hit with the American public before and after World War II. He was known by the moniker "Mr. Entertainment" or Ted "Is Everybody Happy?" Lewis. Lewis died in August 1971. Personally autographed to James Huff. I bought this autograph from the estate of James Huff Jr. who was in charge of public relations for Frank P. Gravatt, president of the Atlantic City Steel Pier Company.
