1960 PITTSBURGH PIRATES TEAM ISSUED GOLD WORLD SERIES CHARM THAT BELONGED TO HAL SMITH, THE CATCHER ON THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS. The front has the official logo of the 1960 Pirates and the back has Smith's initials H.W.S. and the maker's name, "Jostens" is stamped under the initials. I bought it directly from Smith and he told me that the Pirates issued these charms for the players' wives. The players received rings and the wives were given these charms. Very few were made and distributed. It has the same logo that the official game had, but added NBC SPORTS at the bottom. It was made by the prestigious jeweler BALFOUR. There is nothing on the charm saying Balfour, but the box has a cover with Balfour imprinted on it. The pin has been out of the box only 1 time, and the pin is slightly bigger than a quarter. The box is plastic and has cracks and much wear. The charm is perfect. …35.00
